Michigan State hockey is back after a week off, and looking to stay hot in a two-game series against Notre Dame this weekend. The Spartans and Fighting Irish will wrap-up their regular season series, with two games at Munn Ice Arena in East Lansing, Mich. this weekend. The first of those two games will be played on Thursday, with the second game coming on Friday.

Michigan State won the first two games against Notre Dame on the road, and will look to complete the regular season series sweep this weekend. Michigan State comes into this series with wins in seven of their last eight games -- the lone loss came in overtime at Michigan. The Spartans are 22-6-0 overall and 13-5-0 (39 points) in Big Ten play.

Michigan State trails rival Michigan by four points for the Big Ten title race but the Spartans have two games in hand. Notre Dame is in the midst of a rough season, currently sitting at 6-20-4 overall and 2-15-1 (9 points) in Big Ten play. The Fighting Irish, however, are coming off arguably their best weekend of the season, with a win and tie against Minnesota last week.
