After suffering a double-digit deficit entering the final minutes, Texas A&M basketball cleaned up its inconsistent shooting to defeat Ole Miss, 80-77, at Reed Arena on Wednesday night and break the four-game SEC losing streak From tipoff, it seemed like the Rebels held firm control in Bryan-College Station.
A late three-pointer from Ruben Dominguez and a clutch layup from Rashaun Agee pushed Texas A&M past Ole Miss in a closely-contested league showdown, however. Texas A&M struggled shooting in the win, as Bucky McMillan's unit finished 48% from the field and just 25% from three-point range.
No shots were landing for the Aggies for the majority of the contest, while Ole Miss capitalized on the misses with 23 fastbreak points. Meanwhile, Agee led Texas A&M with 17 points and cleared up the boards for the Maroon and White with 10 rebounds, marking the graduate forward's 11th double-double of the season.
Marcus Hill and Dominguez combined for 27 points and 10 assists in a productive performance for the Aggies. The fall from grace in the league standings has come to a close for McMillan's group, as they improve to 18-8 (8-5 in SEC play) with five games remaining before the conference tournament begins.

It will take extremely clean basketball from the Maroon and White moving forward, however. Texas A&M can't afford to have more performances like Wednesday's efforts against Ole Miss, in which the Aggies recorded their worst outing of the season from three-point range. Entering the mid-week slate, the Rebels were the third-worst team in the league, while Texas A&M remained tied for fifth place with Missouri.
The odds will be massively stacked against the Aggies' hopes of reaching March Madness if the team falls to Oklahoma this weekend. Next up, Texas A&M will travel to Norman, Oklahoma, to take on the Sooners on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. CT. The matchup against Oklahoma from Lloyd Noble Center will be broadcast live on the SEC Network.
