ESPN NFL analyst says Chiefs should cut ties with Travis Kelce

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has yet to decide whether he will retire, but one ESPN NFL analyst says that if He does come back, the Chiefs need to cut ties with him. Former NFL GM Mike Tannenbaum says it’s time to move on. “I would move on from Travis Kelce, and let me tell you why. When you are in the front office, you gotta project what you're going to do, not what they have done,” Tannenbaum said.

“I made that mistake countless times in my career, and Travis Kelce is a first ballot Hall of Fame, but when you watch him and make an honest and sober evaluation of his 2025 performance, clearly his best days are behind him,” he added. “If I were Kansas City, I would make the right, albeit difficult decision, to move on from Travis Kelce,” he concluded.

Kelce didn’t have a bad year, but he didn’t have a great season either. He had 851 yards and five touchdowns; however, there were times throughout the season when Kelce would drop balls he would normally catch. He also appeared to move more slowly against younger and faster players. However, the ultimate decision will ultimately come down to Kelce, and he hasn’t yet shared his plans.
