Pedri returns at a time when Barcelona have hit a sticky patch due to defeats to Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey and Girona in La Liga .
The midfielder’s return is a huge boost and Szczesny highlighted just how important the Spain star is to Hansi Flick’s team. “People don’t realize how much we missed Pedri during his injury. Even when we were winning, something was missing. For me, he’s the best in the world in his position,” he said. “He controls everything: the rhythm, the confidence, the team’s identity. Now that he’s back, we can work miracles.
“With Pedri on the pitch, we’re a different beast. He makes the impossible look easy, and with him, anything is possible for Barça.” Pedri is expected to be in the squad to face Levante on Sunday but is expected only to be a substitute as he’s eased back into action after his latest lay-off.
