Former Dolphins WR joining Ben Johnson's Bears coaching staff

Former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Isaiah Ford is joining the coaching ranks as an offensive quality control coach with the Chicago Bears . Ford, 30, was a seventh-round pick for the Dolphins in the 2017 NFL Draft and spent the first three years of his career in Miami before he was traded to the New England Patriots during his fourth season.

After only a month with the Patriots, Ford re-joined the Dolphins and spent another year with the team. In 32 total games with the Dolphins, Ford recorded 63 receptions for 681 yards and two touchdowns. While he later had stints with the New York Giants , Indianapolis Colts , and Chicago Bears, Ford never played a regular season game outside of his time with Miami.

In Chicago, he'll join Ben Johnson's coaching staff after previously spending time with the coach in Miami. Johnson was the Dolphins' assistant wide receivers coach when Ford was drafted in 2017 and spent the 2018 season as wide receivers coach. Another member of the Dolphins' 2017 draft class, fifth-round pick Isaac Asiata, is offensive line coach for the Weber State Wildcats.
